Chlorophyll to the brim

Almost up to his oversized eyeballs in a soupy mix of Common duckweed (Lemna minor) and algae, this frog looked quite comfortable and right at home. (Earlier post about a similar frog.)

Soggy Bottom Boy (or Girl)

I may have startled this little guy into the water, since I heard a frog-sized splash not long before taking this. Looks like a northern green frog (Rana clamitans melanota). I like its big ball-bearing eyes and trendy leopard-skin tights.

Waterlogged frog

This rain-drenched day in Jersey seems like a good time to take a look at someone who enjoys being soaked to the skin. May be an American bullfrog (Lithobates catesbeianus), sitting contentedly among the swampy reeds.

Creature from the green lagoon

Although not really in a lagoon, this little frog seems quite happy to be floating about in the spring algae of one of the creeks in the park.
