True to its name, this tiny Field sparrow (Spizella pusilla) was hopping about the greenery, leaves, and assorted brushy bits of an open field.

The fuzzy underside of nature

Stem-side view of an emerging star magnolia blossom, in all its fuzzy glory. Its Latin name sounds like an Italian film star from the 50s: Magnolia Stellata.
