More amber autumn notes, this time composed by a Katsura tree.

Mixed media with gold leaf

The canopy of this ornamental tree gilded the afternoon sky with papery alloys of two precious metals: copper and gold. Not sure, but it may be a Japanese zelkova (Zelkova serrata).

Impressionist shimmer

The leaves reflected here turn a humdrum parking lot puddle into a natural work of plein air art, shimmering with squiggly brush strokes of autumn colors.

Eyeing colors

This radiant branch, I think of Red maple (acer rubrum), was hanging low over a creek. Sun rays passed through its leaves at just the right angle to create a psychotropic prism of colors.
