A fairly tame park squirrel, this fellow seemed to be wearing little plastic fangs and a big grin. On closer inspection, it was probably just something he was chewing on.

Squirrely snacks

Don’t think this Grey squirrel was eating the poison ivy berries that were still decorating this tree, but he was actively nibbling on some tidbit or other hidden within his furry little hands. (Previous post about Eastern grey squirrels.)

You lookin’ at me?

While the park seems to provide ideal living quarters for an Eastern grey squirrel (Sciurus carolinensis), it isn’t teeming with them. This one was feeding in the woods close to a path and was spooked by a passing dog.
