Land snail ho!

This terrestrial, shell-backed crawler was making its way down one of the unpaved paths of the Ramanessin section of Holmdel Park. Like a sleek, gray muscle, it pulled itself through the grass & weeds with apparent aplomb.

Paddling processional

With their orange-tinged heads held high, these three cormorants were moving in elegant harmony around the lower pond at Holmdel Park. If they’re Double-crested cormorants (Phalacrocorax auritus), they may be resting over on their way back north for the summer.
