Wild-goose place

The wildlife refuge played host to a large number of Snow geese (Chen caerulescens) last week. Some members of this flock were flying around, while others were content to meander about on land with a few of their gull friends.

Red-tail in the morning …

… rodents take warning — because this Red-tailed hawk (Buteo jamaicensis) is looking for you. The juvenile bird tried his hunting luck from various trees along a marshy area in the Forsythe NWR.
