Despite their fearsome-sounding name, not a peep was heard from these Eastern screech-owls (Megascops asio).

The two downy youngsters were sitting in different trees one day, while young & old were perched together the next.

Such an unexpected delight to be able to observe these pint-sized hunters so close-at-hand.
