Seeing (red) spots

This sunlit Red-spotted purple butterfly (Limenitis arthemis) seemed to be checking out the soft ruby fruit of an Autumn olive tree (Elaeagnus umbellate).

From this vantage point, the underside of the wings look light brown, while on the flip side they were darker and edged in bright blue.
