Lemon meringue mushroom

Covered neatly with stiff white peaks of meringue — or so it seemed — this Puffball mushroom (something in the Lycoperdon or Calvatia genus perhaps) looked like an airy, if fungal, confection peaking out from behind a few weedy leaves.
