Near the northern edge of Thompson Park, Butterfly milkweed (Asclepias tuberosa) was bursting with a bright orange bang.

Although mostly visited by bees, at least one cluster had a more conventional customer — maybe a Banded hairstreak (Satyrium calanus) — who settled in for a sugary drink.
