Ringing in the new

This colorfully ringed and slightly wavy fungal form suggests the skirt of a Mexican folkloric costume caught in mid-spin.

A lemony green patch of what may be bracket or shelf fungus, it was one of the brighter spots in an otherwise grey, brown, and still icy white woods.
