Several of these stunning Eastern bluebirds (Sialia sialis) were flitting about the swamp pond in the morning. The males are especially well attired, trimmed in shiny sky satin.

They seemed to be checking out the dead trees as potential homes — or maybe they’ve already signed the lease.
