Will Success Spoil Flock Hunter?

A real looker

A real looker

We watched this rusty-striped stalker (perhaps a Cooper’s hawk (Accipiter cooperii)) as it perched in a Black locust tree (Robinia pseudoacacia) for quite some time.

While it didn’t seem bothered by our relatively close presence & continued looking this way and that for a small-feathered feast, a nearby robin kept up a constant alert squawk.
