Opposites repulse

The flowers on this nightshade (perhaps Solanum dulcamara) are an exercise in contrasting colors, with their bright yellow stamens jutting out from deep
blue-purple petals. They look like toxic little bananas with the peel pulled back.

The clashy attire may be the plant’s signal that would-be samplers eat at their own risk.
